Company History

Since 2024, KLAUS Timber a. s. has been a participant of the TISAX (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) service, which deals with the assessment of secure information transmission. 

During January 2024, the seventh CAPE palletising line was installed, this time of the Tandem type. The line with the stacking robot was installed in the Dvorec production area in hall D8.

Three new drying chambers have been installed in Dvorec, in the old part of the production area. The dryers were supplied by a new manufacturer, the Czech brand KATRES. These three chambers are directly specialized for drying lumber.

On Saturday 24th June 2023, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of KLAUS Timber in a big way.

In the middle of 2022, in close proximity to existing production area, construction of sawmill Dvorec began.

CAPE's fifth (and sixth overall) palletising line, this time called Mach 3 B, was installed in Dvorce in just four weeks in January and February 2023.

Production area Dvorec has installed photovoltaic panels on the roofs of its halls. Photovoltaics has expanded the range of energy source options with solar energy, which can, for example, fulfill the energy needs of drying facilities and the boiler room.

In fall 2022, the railway siding project connecting the Nepomuk railway station and production area Dvorec has been completed.

In 2022, KLAUS Timber has been awarded with the AAA Premium certificate by Dun & Bradstreet – an independent evaluator of stability and ability of a company to fulfill its financial obligations. Only 0.5% of all companies evaluated ever reach the Platinum rank.

In June 2022, our company has received the ISO 14001 certification. This certificate involves ecology and environment – all operational processes of our company adhere to standards defined by the ISO.

During January and February 2022, after 15 years of service, the chipper in Drahkov plant was successfully replaced by a new model. Beyond replacement of machinery itself, the outdoor area underwent modifications as well.

New CAPE Tandem palette line is situated in Dvorec production area in D1 production hall. We installed it in May 2021. The Instalation was the quickest in our history – instead of three planned weeks we did it in 10 days.

During the spring of 2021, a new cardboard machine commenced operation. Its construction was fully orchestrated by the maintenance division lead by Michal Kovařík.

In 2021, the 625 square meters large U-building has been constructed inside VA Dvorec. It serves as a complex facility for the needs of central maintenance, and also as a central warehouse.

During the first half of 2021, a new hall has “sprouted” inside the Dvorec area, construction of which, once again, took advantage of prefabricated components.

We dedicated the first half of 2021 to the implementation of several electronic systems and we are one step closer to the digitization of our work process.

In September 2020, the very first issue of our company magazine called K has been published.

During June and July 2020 the production area in Dvorec got new gas forklifts with CNG drive. Their loading capacity is 2,5, 4 and 5 tonnes. Forklifts were bought from Linde company and they have replaced old diesel forklifts.

During spring 2020 the new semi-automatic pallet machine K.Stroj was installed in Dvorec. It´s a prototype machine and it was designed for our company. Semi-automat produces several types of pallets up to 2x8 m dimension.

In 2019 the company built the new production area in Dvorec. The new area is connected to the current production area and it is situated in the industrial area in Dvorec. There are the preparatory hall, the production hall, the boiler-room, three big drying kilns and also storages. From 9th to 11th December the final inspection before test run took place in the new area.

In November 2019 the new big Fiedler boiler was installed. The boiler is intended for processing of wood waste. Its output is 2,5 MW so it can heat up the whole area. The boiler is automatic and it fulfills the strictest emission conditions.

There are two new pallet production lines in the new production area in Dvorec – CAPE Mach 1 and CAPE Mach 3. Fast line Mach 1, which was installed in July 2019, is intended for smaller pallets and for decks.

Our sawmill premises in Drahkov were also given a present as we were celebrating the 20th company anniversary. This was a new sawdust storage with the suction technology. This is the first time we decided to use prefabricated concrete units within the KLAUS Timber areas. The overall sawmill production output is expected to be increased up by 15% thanks to improved suction technology.

On Thursday, 28. 6. 2018, at 9:00 AM, as of the 20th anniversary of company KLAUS Timber establishment, we were honoured to knock, within the ceremony, the cornerstone of Dvorec Production Area.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of company KLAUS Timber establishment were finished the last construction work in the Kladrubce Area. Building facades were improved, as well as the area surfaces, and the main entrance gate was installed.

At the end of 2016 the company KLAUS Timber was granted AAA rating by Bisnode, which is the highest possible stating of financial stability. We were granted 3A, the award which was given only to 2 % of the companies in the Czech Republic, and which is understood as the guarantee and answer to all eventual doubts of the customers and bank institutions.

The year 2016 was the year of investments also in the Dvorec production premises. A new CAPE pallet production line was put into operation in the renovated production hall. This semi-automatic line is control from a touch panel, and can produce up to 200 pallets in one hour. A FANUC robot forms a part of this line, as well as in Kladrubce.

The new administrative building was finished in the second half of the year, whereas its construction was launched already in 2015. Over the time, this building premises were transformed significantly – from the former weighing machine, a house of our production manager to the offices of our logistics, sales and production departments.

Production technology in Kladrubce area was strengthened with two robots. The crosscutting and waste processing centres were widely reconstructed, a boiler, waste crusher and drying kilns were changed.

The KLAUS Timber company celebrates in June 2013 its 15th anniversary and presents completely new company logo.

On 21. 6. 2013 the company was granted the ISO 9001 certification. This certificate ensures the production process flow in accordance with the internationally recognized QMS standards.

At the end of September 2012 the KLAUS Timber company participated for the first time in FachPack packaging trade in Nuremberg, in Germany.

KLAUS Timber company is under the PEFC using only the certified coniferous wood and timber from the sustainably managed forests.

In 2008, when the company went through a decade of flourishing, we decided to close such a decade with our largest investment ever – to finish the construction of large production hall in Kladrubce where the automated CAPE pallet production line is placed.

When the sawmill in Drahkov was operated for a year, Marcel Klaus came to the conclusion that if this company unit is expected to be prosperous, then a fundamental reconstruction and the purchase of new technologies are necessary.

At the end of 2004 the production area in Drahkov was purchased. It was already equipped with a vertical frame saw, a hall and concreted surfaces. In the first months of the year 2005 the work environment was improved, in May the sawmill was put into operation and the sawing was launched.

During the year 2004 was constructed the first administrative building. Slowly, but surely we have more office employees, and a specific employee structure is establishing. Kladrubce production area is started to be concreted, first storage area is built-up, and a new TOS rip saw is installed.

In 2003 the company makes a first step to the production process automation and a semi-automated machine Atica is purchased and delivered from Italy. The machine is installed in another barn of the area and on 10. 7. 2003 the first pallet is produced here.

The Kladrubce area is facing the first major construction works.

At the beginning of the year 1999 the company moves over from the timber production ot the pallet production. Processing the logs and selling just the timber is not worth due to large waste of wood the quality of which is inferior.

The history of KLAUS Timber company dates back to 1998. After two years spent in Germany working in fish processing manufacturing line, Marcel Klaus, a 20-year-old man is coming back home and decides to establish his own company.
